Jin-Fay Tan

Jin-Fay Tan hails from the sunny island of Singapore. He completed his undergraduate degree at the National University of Singapore, with a bachelor thesis focusing on the total synthesis of HSP90/HDAC hybrid inhibitors as potential anti-cancer agents. In late 2021, he earned his PhD under the guidance of Prof. Nicolai Cramer at EPFL, Switzerland, where he explored the applications of 1-alkynyl triazenes in transition metal-catalyzed transformations. He joined the Hartwig research group as a SNSF fellow in May 2022 and is currently investigating site-selective C-H functionalizations. During his free time, Jin-Fay is an avid traveler who enjoys cycling, indie films and 80s music.
