Yanlin Liu

Yanlin was born in Shanghai, China. He completed his undergraduate study at the University of California, Berkeley with a major in Chemical Biology in 2023. He did his undergraduate research under the guidance of Professor Polly L. Arnold, working on synthesizing new ligands for uranyl complexes and using the uranyl complexes as photocatalysts to activate C-H bonds. After graduation, he started a one-year post-bachelor research on a joint project of Professor John F. Hartwig and Professor Polly L. Arnold. He is now working with Gabe Herrera on studying artificial metalloenzymes with f-block elements. During the leisure time, Yanlin loves to play the classical guitar, watch animations, and play board games with friends. He recently set up a saltwater aquarium in his room.
