Max Surke

Max was born in 1998 and grew up in Dortmund, Germany. He received a B.Sc. in Biochemistry in 2016 working on a sustainable synthesis of beef flavor with novel Pd(I) Dimers. For his Master studies, he changed to the field of Chemistry and worked in the group of Prof. Dr. Lukas Goo├čen on the development of a decarbonylative trifluoromethylation reaction. In 2022, he moved to Berkeley and joined the Hartwig group to work on the silylation of C-H bonds. Outside the lab, Max enjoys watching all kinds of sport, supporting his local soccer team and meeting friends.
